Landing pages
Build a campaign page out of blocks, with your story, your goal and a way to give.
A landing page is a page you build yourself: a story, images, a progress bar and a donation form, all on your own giving address.
Before you start: you need permission to edit forms. If the page will include a donation form, publish that form first.
Create a page
Fundraising > Forms, then New form
Landing pages are created from the same wizard as donation forms. Choose Landing page.
Name it and pick a starter
Start blank, or from Story-led campaign, Simple appeal or Event invitation. Starters are a faster beginning, not a commitment: every block can be changed.
Create
You land in the builder.
The builder
Three panes: blocks on the left, your page in the middle, and the properties of whatever you've selected on the right.
The left pane has two tabs:
- Elements: the content itself, grouped into Content, Events and Giving.
- Layout: section shapes, from full width to multi-column splits.
Click a block to add it, or drag it where you want it. On the page, each block has a handle to drag it, and controls to duplicate or delete it.
Blocks worth knowing
Content: Hero, Heading, Paragraph, Rich text, Image, Video, Button, Link, FAQ, Social share, QR code, and story blocks.
Giving: Donation form, Donate button, Goal progress bar, Goal thermometer, Recent donors, Donor comments.
Events: Countdown, Map, Event details, Event registration, Spots remaining, Sponsorship packages, Quick registration.
A progress bar plus recent donors does real work on a campaign page. People give more readily when they can see others already have.
Page settings
The Settings tab in the right pane holds the page as a whole: its width, its URL, whether search engines may list it, and the title, description and social image used when someone shares the link.
Preview and publish
Switch between Edit and Preview, and use the device toggles to check how the page reads on a phone. Most of your traffic will be on one.
Save stores a draft. Publish makes it live. As with forms, a published page with newer saved work shows Changes not live until you publish again.
When publishing is blocked
Givable checks your page every time you save, and errors block publishing while warnings don't. You'll see a red count in the top bar and a badge on the block at fault.
Errors are all of the "this can't work" kind:
- A heading, button label or link text with no text.
- An image, video, button or link with no destination.
- A donation form block with no form chosen, or a donate button connected to nothing.
- A donation form that isn't published yet. Publish the form first, or your page would offer donors a form they can't reach.
Warnings are worth reading but won't stop you: an empty paragraph, a missing image description, an empty section. The most useful one is the page-level warning that your page has no way for anyone to give or register, which catches the classic mistake of a beautiful page with no donate button.
Add image descriptions when prompted. They're read aloud by screen readers, and they show when an image fails to load.
Sharing
A landing page shares exactly like a form: tracked links, QR codes and embeds, all on the Sharing tab. See Share and embed your form.
