Key concepts
The handful of words Givable uses for people, gifts and money, and how they fit together.
Givable has a small vocabulary. Learn these eight words and the rest of the app makes sense.
People
A person. Donors, event guests, volunteers and fundraisers are all supporters, with one record each holding their details, their giving history and how they want to hear from you.
Money
The gift itself: who gave, how much, and what it was for. A single donation can be split across more than one fund.
Where gifts are counted
What a gift is for: Clean Water Wells, Emergency Relief, Where Most Needed. Funds answer "what did we raise for this?", and they are what a donor picks on your forms.
Funds and campaigns answer different questions. "How much did our spring appeal bring in?" is a campaign. "How much do we have for wells?" is a fund.
How they fit together
A supporter belongs to an account. They give a donation through one of your forms, which is split across one or more funds and may belong to a campaign. The money arrives as a payment, and reaches your bank in a payout. If they set up a recurring gift, that happens again on a schedule.
