Givable AI
Ask questions about your data, have things built for you, and draft the email you were dreading.
Givable AI is an assistant that already knows your data. Ask it who gave last December and has not given since, have it build the report, or have it draft the appeal. It works under your own permissions, so it can never show you anything you could not open yourself.
Before you start: your role needs access to Givable AI. If you cannot see it in the sidebar or the sparkle in the top bar, an administrator can turn it on for your role.
Two ways in
The full page
Givable AI in the sidebar: a full conversation, with your chat history down the side.
The side panel
The sparkle in the top bar, or Ctrl + J (Cmd + J), which opens the assistant beside whatever you are working on.
The panel is the interesting one. It knows what you have open, and says so at the top: the record you are looking at, the list you are filtering, the flow, template, report, broadcast, event or form you are editing. Ask "make this friendlier" and it knows what "this" is.
Anything it suggests lands in your unsaved copy. Nothing is saved until you save it, the same as if you had typed it yourself.
What you can ask for
Questions about supporters, gifts, campaigns and funds. It can point you at reports and dashboards, saved views and lists, exports, who is within a given distance of a place, and search by meaning rather than exact words.
Two shortcuts in the message box are worth learning: @ picks a record to talk about, and / lists the things it can make for you.
What it will never do
This is the short list, and it is deliberate:
- It never sends or publishes anything. Not an email, not a text, not a document for signature.
- It cannot delete anything.
- It changes a record only with your approval, on the changes your organization has enabled, shown to you exactly before they happen.
- It reads under your permissions, never around them.
What to do with an answer
Each answer carries its own controls: Copy table, Download CSV, and Pin to a dashboard when the answer is a figure worth keeping an eye on. The thumbs are worth using, because they are how the assistant gets better at your organization's way of asking.
New chat starts fresh, and pinning a conversation keeps it at the top of the list. Conversations are yours: teammates do not see them.
What your organization decides
An administrator controls all of this under Settings > Givable AI:
- Whether the assistant is available at all, for everyone in the organization.
- Which models people can use, and which is the default.
- Which capabilities are on, feature by feature.
- Proactive insights, letting it raise something it noticed without being asked.
- How long conversations are kept, which you can set shorter than Givable's own window.
- A monthly credit cap, so spend cannot run away. Changing the cap needs billing permission.
- Instructions: a description of your organization, and a glossary of your words, so it stops calling your gala an event and starts calling it the gala.
The Overview tab shows what has been used this month, by model and by person.
